ansible.builtin.ini – read data from a ini file

Note

This module is part of ansible-base and included in all Ansible installations. In most cases, you can use the short module name ini even without specifying the collections: keyword. Despite that, we recommend you use the FQCN for easy linking to the module documentation and to avoid conflicting with other collections that may have the same module name.

New in version 2.0: of ansible.builtin

Synopsis

  • The ini lookup reads the contents of a file in INI format key1=value1. This plugin retrieves the value on the right side after the equal sign '=' of a given section [section].

  • You can also read a property file which - in this case - does not contain section.
