community.general.bootc_manage module – Bootc Switch and Upgrade

This module is part of the community.general collection (version 10.1.0).

You might already have this collection installed if you are using the ansible package. It is not included in ansible-core. To check whether it is installed, run ansible-galaxy collection list.

To install it, use: ansible-galaxy collection install community.general.

To use it in a playbook, specify: community.general.bootc_manage.

Synopsis

  • This module manages the switching and upgrading of bootc.

Parameters

The image to switch to.

This is required when state=switch.

state

string / required

Control to apply the latest image or switch the image.

Note: This will not reboot the system.

Please use ansible.builtin.reboot to reboot the system.

Choices:

  • "switch"

  • "latest"

Examples

# Switch to a different image
- name: Provide image to switch to a different image and retain the current running image
  community.general.bootc_manage:
    state: switch
    image: "example.com/image:latest"

# Apply updates of the current running image
- name: Apply updates of the current running image
  community.general.bootc_manage:
    state: latest
